Tabitha's Peaceful Piece Makers was created to respond to the needs of the children of the Sunshine Center for Street Kids, Kiev, Ukraine. The First Presbyterian Church of Ellensburg has supported the Sunshine Center for several years, but in November 2008 we decided to give each child something of lasting value that would be uniquely theirs -- a handmade quilt, made by our own quilt-making sewing group. In March, 2009, 34 quilts were blessed by our congregation and sent to Kiev. This was only the beginning of Tabitha's quilt-making mission.
