JOY to the World!

Not sure it gets any better than this . . . singing "Joy To The World"  outside this morning with 9 year-old Adriana who was learning to knit and weave with our precious WSU Cheerleader, Kim, this morning!  Kim taught herself and then is sharing her gifts with the local children who ADORE HER!  Right now, Kim is having her hair braided by one of the sewing students, Sinese, who is also 21 and speaks some English.  I SO WISH I could upload some pictures from here, but this isn't my computer and it's not compatible with my camera.  Sinese is also the cook for  The Apparent Project and we enjoyed a wonderful Haitian lunch.  We showed them a world map and they were so amazed by how far away we are from Ellensburg.  The world is getting smaller every day!

Our amazing ladies ORGANIZED two sewing rooms last night and we embarked on our "sewing school" for 10 Haitian women around 9:00 this morning, Haitian time:)  We were blown away by their personal stories and we shared ours with them too.  Their smiles are infectious and they were so grateful for the time we spent with them and the progress they made.

Two of our translators, 30 year old Junior, and 16 year old Rodney, even got in on the action . . . they can sew with the best of them, and are pretty proud of it too:)

Tonight we get to go to Corrigan and Shelley's home for dinner which is so generous of them. (Rodney says maybe I can play the piano there).  He also has invited us to go to his church tomorrow where Sherley, another translator is in the church choir.  We are loving this time here and the Haitians already have a special place in our hearts.
