Tabitha's Peaceful Piecemakers Mission Trip to Haiti
Welcome to our new site! We are excited to share with you about our upcoming mission experice to Port-Au-Prince Haiti.

Our team of 10 women will be travelling to Haiti in January 2011 to work with the organzation the Apparent Project.

Our Focus:
Most of the group will be working with Haitian women teaching sewing skills. The poverty in Haiti is overwhelming and many women have to give their children over to orphanges because they can no longer support them. What a terrible choice for a mother to make! Aparent Project is working to help create skills for these families so that families will not have to be broken up due to poverty. The sewing team will be teaching not only sewing skills but projects such as cloth diapers, book bags and children's clothing. Teaching these tangiable skills will allow the women to learn marketable skills for them to provide for thier family (and be able to keep their children!)

Another part of the team will be working with street kids and families in tent city to do some basic first aid treatment and training. We will be working with people to help treat and educate on prevention concerning different health issues.
