A Brand New Day

Good morning from Haiti!  I'm a little late posting today because the internet was down when I got up.  I actually didn't sleep well last night . . . I was "composing blogs" in my sleep, so here we go:)

The sun is rising over the densely populated hills of Port au Prince.  The roosters (and there are lots of them) are crowing to let us know it's time to get up.  Interestingly, God has been waking us EARLY (5:45 am) because we don't want to miss anything and we're excited for this brand new day.

We begin this day with THANKSGIVING for all that God is doing here at The Apparent Project.  We begin this day with HUMILITY as we remember our precious time with 16 year old Rodney yesterday as he proudly walked us in and through the 5,000 people tent city to see his "home" and meet his beautiful family.  We begin this day with TENDER HEARTS for our mission team, our sisters in Christ, our precious friends.  God gave us some more amazing team time last night.

We begin this day with FEELINGS OF ACCOMPLISHMENT for all that has been learned in our sewing classes and with JOY over the hope that shows on the faces of the ladies that possibly made a marketable product that could mean keeping their families together.  We begin this day with PEACE in our hearts - the PEACE that only God can give - the peace that has been with our team during our planning times in Ellensburg and throughout each day in Haiti.

We begin this day with ANTICIPATION for what God is going to do here today!  As the city wakes up (and also some of our mission team) we pray for our host family, the Clays, and the amazing work they are doing at The Apparent Project, and we pray for the people of Haiti - our students, the translators, the artisans we see at work each day, the BEAUTIFUL Haitian children & their families, and WE PRAY FOR YOU, our friends, our family, our church.

God bless you on this new day!  May His light shine on you as brightly as the morning sun rising over the hills.

Love and prayers,
Joed
