This is Wendy writing: We have had 3 great days of sewing with our amazing ladies thanks to God's help and the ladies' patience with our Creole. We haven't picked it up well. They laugh alot with us. We learned to make coin purses today and they turned out really good. Shelley was soooo excited to have something that she can easily sell for them in her little store. The ladies in Arda's room made 12 that are sellable and we had 2 made in our room. Our translator, Junior, who is 30, made a diaper and a coin purse today. The ladies thought it was so silly that he was making them. He was so fun to sew with. He will need to know it all when we leave so he can help the ladies.
Our two main goals for coming here have been accomplished already - forming relationships with these wonderful Haitian people and helping them learn a skill so that they can provide for their children. I feel so blessed to be a part of this amazing group of women from Ellensburg and Haiti! THANK YOU FOR SENDING US and for all your prayers and support! They mean a lot to all of us.
